Basement Systems places 5th for small companies in Hearst Media's Top Workplaces 2012, making it one of 35 companies across the state to be selected.  It was also the only consumer services company to place.

The competition, judged from a survey given to more than 14,000 employees at 62 companies, ranged from small to large companies across a broad array of industries, and looked for the values that employees receive from their employers, and how employees can contribute to their work environment.

Some the the survey questions:

• I get the formal training I want at my career
• I feel genuinely appreciated at this company
• I am confident about my future with this company
• My job makes me feel like I am part of something meaningful
• This job has met or exceeded the expectations I had when I started
